The quality and efficiency of public transportation directly impact the quality of life. As part of Theme Mobility, we analysed the number and quality of urban transport networks, as well as their full accessibility for people with disabilities.
An important aspect of our evaluation was the number of transport hubs – key transfer points ensuring extensive mobility and connectivity. We also assessed the availability of e-services, including digital payment options for transport fares, mobile applications, and the overall user-friendliness of the public transport system.
Furthermore, we examined the extent to which cities collaborate with external entities providing journey planners, which facilitate easier navigation for residents.
A key factor in our study was transport safety – we analysed both the overall number of traffic accidents and the number of fatal incidents.
Our focus also included urban traffic management strategies and the implementation of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), which enhance traffic flow and improve safety.
